Sausage Rolls

My friend in Holland liked the rolls so much, he almost ate them all.....

1/2 package of Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry (keep the other half in the
freezer for another time)
1 package of Turkey breakfast sausages* or other sausage.
egg wash made with 1 egg and 1 tbs. water, whisked together

Thaw the puff pastry dough on the counter for about 20 min.
Roll out pastry sheet to 1½ times its original size.

Cut strips of dough and roll one or two sausage(s) into a length of the dough.
Secure the seams with a bit of the egg wash. Put the seam side down on a
baking sheet covered with baking or parchment paper.
Let stand for 10 min, while the oven is heating.

Follow directions on Puff Pastry package, i.e., heat oven to 400°F.
Bake sausage rolls for about 15-20 min. or until golden brown.

*Sausages can be pre-cooked to render the fat from the sausages.

Note: Do not reheat rolls in the microwave. It makes them soggy.
