Oma Broodjes

OMA BROODJES (makes 24 rolls)

When I ask my children what I can bring at get-togethers or parties, I always hear the same request…… Oma Broodjes….. Broodjes is the Dutch word for Buns…. Here is the easy recipe for these delicious buns…

1 package of Bridgeford frozen dough (3 loaves)

Place package in refrigerator overnight or until thawed.
Separate the loaves, and with knife or kitchen shears cut into 8 pieces per loaf and place on a baking sheet.  Spray lightly with cooking spray, and cover with baking paper, or aluminum foil which is also sprayed very lightly with cooking spray.

Let rolls rise in a lukewarm oven using the following method:
Turn oven on for 3-5 minutes and then turn the  oven off. If possible turn the oven light on and put the baking sheet in the oven, for approximately 40-60 min.
When buns are nicely puffed up, turn oven on 375°F (190°C) and bake rolls for about 15 min. until they are golden. Turn oven off, leave the buns in, and spray buns with a spray of water from a mister. This will give a nice sheen to the buns. Let cool for about 10 min. and remove from oven and let buns cool on oven rack or baking racks.
