Welcome to my web site where I share some of the recipes for foods my family has enjoyed.  Every recipe you see has been made – and enjoyed – by us, so when you make it and follow the directions, I know that you’ll enjoy it as well.

Since moving to the United States from my native coun try The Netherlands, I have enjoyed creating dishes with ingredients that are not well known – but readily available in my adopted country. With my European background and different style of cooking, dishes that I make are often unique enough so that when I serve them I am asked for the recipe.  For a number of years our hometown newspaper, the Sonora Union Democrat, regularly published my recipes, and I still enjoy the occasional attention I receive in the grocery store when I am recognized.

In September of 2001, I was invited to attend a cooking class in a Michelin Star restaurant in The Netherlands, where I took a lot of pictures.  This created the “Hotel Savelberg” story, which we decided to share on this site. 

I am looking forward to attending another cooking class somewhere; I will share that story with you as well.  In the meantime, please enjoy my recipes, and send me a recipe of your own that I can duplicate in my kitchen.
